The photos of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen riding a motorbike without wearing helmet during his trip to Koh Kong province last week, were shared and criticized by many Facebook users. After that, he also publicly apologized to all Cambodian citizens and tell them not to repeat his mistake.
On June 22, 2016, Prime Minister Hun Sen said in a Facebook post that, he knew that his apology is not very effective since he already disobeyed the traffic law. “There is no rule or any special privileges for the parliamentarian or prime minister to be pardoned from disobeying the traffic law”, he said. He also agreed to pay the fine for himself and the motorbike driver.
Lastly, he showed his admiration for the works of Traffic Police, since they applied the law to everyone, regardless their position. And he also encourages everyone to obey the traffic law together.
