Legal Forms of a Commercial Enterprise

Commercial law in Cambodia had been influenced by the civil law system, specifically French legal system since the adoption of the historic Code of Commerce in 1950. The famous legal forms of commercial enterprises had been Société en Noms Collectifs (SNC), Société en Commandites Simples (SCS), Société à Responsabilité Limitée (SARL) and Société Anonyme (SA). These legal forms of commercial enterprises remain similar to those upon the Code of Commerce 1950. In addition to the basis form of a sole proprietorship, upon the Law on Commercial Enterprises 2005, commercial enterprises are consisted of a partnership composed of a general partnership and a limited partnership, and a company composed of a private limited company and public limited company.
